This is a placeholder for the menu structure. There is some further detail on the regulars in the FAQ, but there’s not a lot to see here.

The eight subgroups are thus:

REGULAR 1 – South Wales Borderers, men who enlisted up to 1901
Service numbers 4200-6999
REGULAR 2 – South Wales Borderers, men who enlisted from 1901 to 1903
Service numbers 7000-7999
REGULAR 3 – South Wales Borderers, men who enlisted from 1903 to 1904.
Service numbers 8000-8579
REGULAR 4 – South Wales Borderers, men who enlisted from late 1904 up to the end of 1905.
Service numbers 8580-8999
REGULAR 5 – South Wales Borderers, men who enlisted from the start of 1906 up to the summer of 1908.
Service numbers 9000-9999

REGULAR 6 – South Wales Borderers, men who enlisted from autumn 1908 to August 1911.
Service numbers 10000-10661
REGULAR 7 – South Wales Borderers, men who enlisted from August 1911 to February 1913
Service numbers 10662-10999
REGULAR 8 – South Wales Borderers, men who enlisted from February 1913 to July 1914 and were therefore pre-war regulars.
